Commemoration Year Slavery Past - Available funds from collaboration NGO Platform/NiNsee

The National Institute of Dutch Slavery History and Heritage (NiNsee) and NGO Platform are proud to announce a series of activities in the context of the Commemoration Year of Slavery History. As the official national organization for the Dutch Slavery Past, NiNsee has set itself the task of raising awareness of this shared history and investigating its impact on current social relations.

An important aspect of the program is the collaboration between NiNsee and the seven regions of Suriname, Curaçao, St. Maarten, Aruba, Bonaire, Saba and St. Eustatius. NiNsee recognizes the value of different perspectives and initiatives regarding the shared slavery history in each of these areas. Together with NGO Platform, they want to transform the Slavery Past Commemoration Year on Bonaire into a period in which societies themselves are central.

To achieve these goals, NiNsee is making a $25,000 contribution to the NGO Platform. This financial support is intended to support activities related to the commemoration and celebration of the abolition of the Dutch transatlantic slavery past. NGO Platform will forward this contribution to foundations, associations and local initiatives that can claim through an application.
